Having lived in Decatur as a child, French MacLean and his wife Olga moved back home in 2008 after serving 30 years in the United States Army. Now an author of thirteen published non-fiction books, French’s titles “The Fifth Field” and “Custer’s Best” garnered prestigious national history awards.
